AIDS Resources of Rural Texas

At AIDS Resources of Rural Texas, we serve many people and strive to help each one live the healthiest, most meaningful lives possible. Each client comes to us with various levels of needs, challenges and complications.

Take, for example, Glenda. Glenda came to AIDS Resources over a year ago in dire need of assistance and medical attention. As a 25-year heroin user, Glenda had been jailed for six years during which time her health had declined to a critical level. Facing uncontrolled HIV, diabetes, hypertension and painful neuropathy, Glenda struggled with her physical and emotional state.

Seriously ill, depressed and isolated, Glenda turned to AIDS Resources for help. With both medical attention and counseling, she was able to return to her HIV medications, bring her diabetes and hypertension under control, reestablish important personal relationships and find purpose and satisfaction helping other clients struggling with HIV.

Glenda shares one of her many talents, cooking, each week with the support group at AIDS Resources. Her smile and the smell of her wonderful, home-cooked food fill our offices and are a welcome expectation each time she returns.

At AIDS Resources, we endeavor to help each client reach and maintain a healthy physical and emotional state. Through our services, clients like Glenda are able to receive much needed medical attention, prescription drugs, counseling, food, transportation and housing assistance.

Federal and State grants cover only a portion of the services that we provide to our clients. The critical remainder comes from friends like you who help support our very important mission through donations and personal resources.
